The techniques

Which option is right for you?

Full gel set — On tips or forms, to add length, correct a shape or strengthen a weak nail. You choose the length and shape: square, squoval, almond or ballerina.
Gel polish — On natural nails, for a glossy colour that does not chip. The ideal option if you would rather not have extensions.
Infill — At regular intervals we fill the regrowth at the base of the nail and rebalance the structure. That is what prevents breakage and lets you keep your set going for a long time.
Nail art and finishes — French, baby boomer, chrome effect, crystals, hand-painted designs: we decide the finish together, from the most understated to the most elaborate.
Removal and repair — Removal in the salon, with an e-file and professional remover, without stripping the layers of the nail. A single broken nail can be repaired without redoing the whole hand.

Building

Applying the tip or form, then sculpting the gel to create a balanced curve and thickness.

We refine until the chosen shape is achieved, perfectly matched from finger to finger.

Colour and finish

Applying the colour, any nail art, then the top coat, cured under the LED lamp.

Precautions and contraindications

We do not apply product to a nail affected by a fungal infection, an infection or a wound around the nail: in those cases medical advice is needed first. Do tell us about any known allergy to resins or acrylics. To protect your natural nails: never pull off a set that is lifting, wear gloves for housework, and apply cuticle oil daily.

Does gel damage natural nails?

Not in itself. What damages the nail is over-aggressive buffing during preparation and, above all, removal done at home by picking the product off. Applied properly, a gel set protects the natural nail and even lets it grow without breaking.

How long does a set of nails last?

A gel set easily lasts several weeks. It is not the product that gives way, it is the regrowth becoming visible and unbalancing the nail: that is when an infill is due. Gel polish also lasts until the regrowth shows.

What is the difference between hard gel and gel polish?

Gel polish is colour applied to the natural nail: it does not add length and strengthens very little. Hard gel is a building product: it lengthens, strengthens and corrects the shape. If your nails break constantly, hard gel is what you need.

Do I need to have the set removed between appointments?

No, and it is actually better not to. Infills let you keep a set going for months. A full removal is done when you want to change style, go back to natural, or if the nail needs a break after a long period.

Can I come in with a set done elsewhere?

Yes. Depending on the condition and the product used, we will either do an infill or a full removal to start again from a healthy base. We tell you as soon as we have looked, before we start.
